Wryneck - Shetland

Managed to get better views of the Ireland (Shetland) Wryneck

This time it showed straight after getting out of the car, flying off a pile of sea weed. Managed to see where it went and it settled down.

It wasn't the best of days with force 5 winds which made taking the photos with a long telephoto lens difficult as the wind hit the lens

It was finding plenty of insects to feed on and was very settled, this time showing for over 15 mins

Its camouflage makes it difficult to pick out against the seaweed so its important to look for any movement.

The last time i saw one was in the seaweed at Boddam, not the normal habitat as it should be in woodland

And after giving good views it flew off up the beach and no other birders to see the views
