Barred Warbler- Shetland

It was good to catch up with the Barred Warbler on North Rd, Lerwick today

This bird had been present in a front garden since Sunday 1 November attract to some dark berries
These a chunky birds and are mainly greyish. These are normally present in Shetland August - October
so this and one in Scalloway a bit late. They breed in small numbers in Germany with more further east.
This bird usually came into the garden for short periods and then flew across the road either into the middle of a tree or into a garden.
This and one at Clickimin a couple of years ago have been confiding and didn't seem too bothered by passing walkers and a stream of traffic
