Hoswick burn Migrants

The weather on Saturday  was misty with some drizzle, good for migrants

I took another walk up Howick Burn just a short distance from home in the hope of seeing a Yellow Wagtail

Plenty of other migrants showed, at least 4 Pied Flycatcher which stayed low in the bushes

Lots of Willow Warbler perhaps 10-11 birds and a couple of Chiff Chaff. Many of the Willow Warblers seem to be the Scandinavian species which tends to be a lot darker then the ones on the mainland. Its more about the wing length which is longer than a Chiff Chaff, which doesn't reach down the tail

Then a Yellow wagtail flew in from the beach. It flew up the burn and landed for a few photos before flying off again and going round the field and back to the beach

A very smart bird and may have been different to the two yesterday, one of which was a Blue Headed Wagtail

In Hoswick Bay, 2 Red Throated Diver, 4 Eider, 2 Shag while the beach held Rock Pipit (4) Ringed Plover (2) Turnstone (2)

Also Pied Wagtail, Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler and lots of Meadow Pipit and Skylark singing
