It was good to see the Shelducks doing well down at Boddam
Normally by now several will have been been predated, but it is lucky 13 young. This is an old number as usually the max is around 10 young so this may be two different broods combinedOnly 12 in this photo, moving away in convoy to the other side of the voe, under the careful eye of the parents
13 little ones told to hurry up
Now they appear to be spreading, Boddam was the only breeding place for years but now they are also breeding at Spiggie and have had several young. They have also bred at Ireland, near Bigton, Exnaboe and Burra
