Black tailed godwit

Shetland has hosted a couple of hundred Black Tailed Godwit
The first flock was found at Spiggie staying a few days before moving south to this stubble field at Grutness
They stayed here another 5 days and were often joined by a hundred Rock Dove and Starlings

Meadow Pipit and skylark flocks also fed here before being joined by around 30 Chaffinch and a few Brambling

They are a very elegant wader, but seemed very nervous taking to the air several times, spooked by a Kestrel
