Goldeneye - Shetland

These past few weeks we have seen a small influx of Goldeneye
Although most are on freshwater there are also a small number of the sea and this male was down at Grutness.

Good to see the reflections on a calm blue sea. The light was superb
Elsewhere we still have some American birds with the Bufflehead still at Hilllwell along with an American Wigeon and another American wigeon at Spiggie along with an American Coot. The Ross/s Goose has moved to Toft today

Lerwick birds

Had a trip into Lerwick the other day to try and find some otters, i know of at least 5 holts in the area but checking two i didn't see any.

Downa  Hay's dock a very obliging Herring Gull posed for a few photos, possibly thought i had fish and chips

Good to get eye to eye with the gull

At the pool on Sea road a pair of Goldeneye came reasonably close up and on the bank on the other side
