A rare North American Yellow Warbler turned up a mile away in Hoswick and by the time I arrived there was around 50 other birders present. Distant views at first (below)
It could have been more but a lot of birders left last weekend. The bird was very elusive and it was only seen very briefly by a few people in the first hour. it was very bright yellowThe bird was relocated at the other side of the village, again very flighty but stayed a while in a fuchsia on a hill
It flew down to a telegraph pole and move up to the top of some barbed wire before flying back into the fuchsia but at least it provided some views.
It moved again and this time flew over our heads into a small bush near a house,
This location provided the closest views but again it was on the move and flew west
It was present in the afternoon but only giving brief views in between the rain showers
another new bird for me
